Melt Crayons without a Microwave Oven

I’ve been itching to melt the crayons to form a new ones. Jela would just scatter them on the floor which is mahirap ayusin kasi sa liit, may mga napupunta na sa sulok sulok na mahirap abutin.

I used to see crayon melting in pages that promote activities for kids. It’s just small moulder, though. Tapos wala din akong microwave oven. Buti nalang there’s google. Hehe.

So here’s how we melted the crayons without the microwave:

Kung wala namang steamer, pwedeng heat-safe bowl or baking pans. Not sure sa microwaveables.

Before
After. This is the 3rd and last batch hehe

TIPS:

  • You can mix crayons in a hole, or you can put the same color. So we came up with a colorful ice cream. Huehue.
Finished products

This activity is a fun bonding for parents and kids but you have to be extra careful specially when handling hot surfaces. I let Jhia put the crayons in the moulder and she waited with me but as for all the process that includes heat, ako ang gumawa.

Ngayong new normal, we can also have fun at home. And kids can also explore without the need to go out. Kailangan lang natin maging resourceful at creative. Fun learning activities shouldn’t be expensive. You can try alternatives using your existing materials. You don’t have to buy all the time. There are a lot of pages in facebook and google where you can get ideas.
